After your road test :

  • If you haven’t already done so, read the “Tuning Up for Drivers” manual found on  icbc.com.

 

  • More questions? Feel free to ask a driver examiner or supervisor.‌‌

 

  • If you fail your Class 5, 6, 7, or 8 road test on the 1st attempt, the earliest you can retake the test is in 14 days.

 

  • If you fall your 2nd attempt, the earliest you can retake the test is 30 days. For any subsequent road test attempt, you must wait 60 days.

 

  • If your learner’s licence expires, you will need to retake the knowledge test.

Before your road test:

If you hold an out-of-province driver’s licence, it must be surrendered before the road test (see Motor Vehicle Act, Section 25.4).

Driving exemptions end once you attempt a road test. All recording and GPS devices must be turned off during the road test.If you have any questions for your driver examiner (e.g., about prior road test errors, myths, etc.), the best time to ask these is before you begin the test.
